Who we are

The Bench helps proven operators work with growing businesses to build the capability they need next. This policy explains what we collect when you contact us through this website and how we handle it. If you have any questions, email us at hello@jointhebench.co.

What we collect

When you submit one of our forms, we collect the details you choose to provide. Depending on the form, this may include your name, email address, phone number, company or organisation, location, professional background, areas of expertise and any message you send us.

We also record limited technical information to keep the forms secure and working, including the page you submitted from, your browser type and a one-way hashed version of your IP address. We do not store your raw IP address.

How we use it

We use the information you provide to:

  • respond to your enquiry and have a conversation with you
  • assess whether The Bench is the right fit for what you are trying to build
  • match operators with relevant opportunities, where you have asked us to
  • protect our forms against spam and abuse

We only contact you about The Bench. We do not sell your information.

Where it is stored

Submissions are stored securely in our database (Supabase) and sent to us by email (Resend). Access is restricted to The Bench team. These providers process data on our behalf and may store it on servers outside your country.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as we need it to respond to you and manage our relationship, after which we delete or anonymise it. You can ask us to delete your details at any time.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. To make a request, email hello@jointhebench.co and we will help.

Atlas

Atlas is a private workspace on The Bench where you can upload your LinkedIn Connections.csv, map where your network has gone, tag the people who matter, and leave with a practical action plan. Atlas is private to you by default.

If you paste text to start a Work Card (for example from a CV or review), Atlas reads it once to suggest starting points. Atlas does not store your original pasted document. We keep the work suggestions and details you choose to develop so you can continue building your Work Passport.

If you choose to use Atlas, we may use your confirmed tags internally to help identify relevant opportunities, introductions or possible project teams. We will not contact anyone in your network without checking with you first. You can ask us to delete your Atlas data at any time.

Analytics

We use privacy-friendly analytics to understand how the website is used in aggregate. This does not identify you personally.
